About Dogmatics

Hi, my name is Philippa. I started agility when i found myself with two gorgeous but crazy clever dogs - Betsie and Alice aka Kath & Kim.

Practicing agility was proving difficult. I have a handkerchief sized back garden and not much more space inside. I bought a couple of regulation jumps thinking i could take them to a park to practice, only to find that if I put them in my car there was no room left for the dogs. In true Wellington fashion, I also have steps up to my home making transporting heavy wooden jumps impractical.

I started working on a portable jump. I learned far more than i ever thought i would need to know about pipes and connectors, but with some fabulous help from a small group of friends who took some prototypes to try and give me feedback on, I have a jump I am confident in.

Jumps are my first product. I am also working on some lightweight portable weaves, hoopers hoops and, slightly left field, agility t-shirts. Keep an eye on the site as I will add more products as they as are tried and proven.

By bulk sourcing of materials, I aim to provide highly usable, portable practice gear for a similar price to what it would cost you to get the materials yourself.

All my products are prototyped and tried out by a number of people with different dogs in different situations before the deign is finalised. Please enjoy!
